Most Myocardial Strain rate programs measure only one dimension of strain rate, Global Longitudinal Strain (GLS). Ours measures longitudinal (GLS), circumferential (shortening around circumference), and radial (thickening of muscle) strain using speckle tracking. This software detects nanometer changes in heart function and finds abnormalities the human eye simply cannot see. It does not replace the cardiologist's read. It provides additional, thorough cardiac evaluation to supplement the sonographer's images & measurements to expand the readers’ scope by including findings of heart failure along with any signs of subclinical systolic dysfunction and amyloid deposits.
